Financial restrictions often result in many people with diagnosed mental health conditions, not receiving the treatment they need. Often many individuals are unable to apply for scholarship assistance due to moderate grades/lower GPA or lack of extracurriculars, due to the need to maintain their mental health. Although the resources are available, many people struggle to receive the treatment they need. The Sunflower Project aims to fill this gap.

Scholarships are available to students who: 

• are pursuing furthering education, whether that be pursuing a degree or certificate program at a college or comparable institution

• those pursuing a trade, cosmetology certification, and other service related education programs

Grants are available to individuals who:​

• present a need for financial assistance to cover psychiatric service costs such as seeing a therapist or psychiatrist.
